In the past, if we will be ask to describe how is education being delivered to the learners, what we can picture out is a teacher teaching inside a classroom.This is what traditional teaching is but time flies so fast and new strategies for education emerges to satisfy the need of the eager learners and dedicated educators.New theorist, theory, and strategies emerges to satisfy the quest and the demands of the changing world , Educational Technology is one of these.
Education as defined is a process of transmitting accumulated knowledge, values, and skills to one generation to the other, while technology is the making, usage and knowledge of tools, techniques, crafts, system or methods for organization in order to solve a problem or serve some purpose (Wikipedia). These two concepts been emerge in the objective of Educational Technology 1.
In that subject , learners been oriented to the different technology in the present society and the world.They been taught of their importance, usage and been introduce to a new avenue for learning. A door that opens to a learner's new perspective of education.

ReplyDeleteHello Ma'am, I would like to ask if how do modern way of teaching differ to the traditional way of teaching? That beside, you said that we can described traditional teaching as a kind of teaching that can be found inside the classroom then how come that now were in the new technology or modern world but we still have the same venue for learning right its still in the room..so maybe your just referring to the new things used today in the teaching field ma'am right?...That traditional way of teaching used visual aids with the used of manila paper and etc. and the modern way of teaching used today is with the used of computer and projector...Ma'am i liked what you post cause you gave me more idea that we must learn how to use new technology such as computer effectively...Thank you for the idea Ma'am.

In regards with your question,from my point of view, basing on my readings and understanding what traditional teaching for me is teaching inside a classroom, while modern way of teaching is what we experience right now in Educational Technology 2 , wherein were not inside a typical classroom, but in a new venue.In some courses they have classes through the use of Skype, Blogging, et al.
Using of computer, LCD projector or any new technology, yes can be part of the modern world, but they are used in the same venue of teaching, which is the classroom.New technology but still the same purpose and usage.For me, the use of manila papers or the use of the modern equipment if done inside the classroom, is still a traditional teaching for the learning is done inside a 4 wall room.
Old ways or new technology, traditional or modern, all of these is of a great help for education.:)
